Using the Marketplace

  • How do I access the Marketplace?

    1. Head to ui.noviconnect.com.

    2. Log in with your user email and password.

    3. Upon signing in, you should land in the marketplace! If you can't find it, use the left navigation menu and click 🛒 Marketplace.

  • How do I search for specific packaging components on the marketplace?

    1. In 🛒 Marketplace, click the tab for 🧴Primary Packaging to narrow your search.

    2. Click 🔻Add Filters to filter by:

      • Policy (Compostable, Curbside Recyclable, Refillable, etc.)

      • Supplier

      • Product Applications (Moisturizer, Sunscreen, Lip Care, etc.)

      • Sub Categories / Packaging Type (Bottle, Cap, Vial, etc.)

      • Country of Manufacture

      • Minimum order quantity (MOQ)

      • Sample Lead Time

      • Lead Time

      • Unit Price

    3. You may also use the search bar to search key words based on what you're looking for. Please note that our search bar is currently under construction, so results may be imperfect. For example, if you're searching for an aluminum bottle, type "aluminum" and then filter Sub Categories by Bottle.

  • How do I search for specific ingredients on the marketplace?

    1. In 🛒 Marketplace, click the tab for ⚛️Ingredients to narrow your search.

    2. Click 🔻Add Filters to filter by:

      • Policy (Compostable, Curbside Recyclable, Refillable, etc.)

      • Supplier

      • Functions

      • Product Applications (Moisturizer, Sunscreen, Lip Care, etc.)

      • Product Colors

      • Product Forms (Liquid, Gel, Flakes, etc.)

      • Fragrance Notes (Citrus, Floral, Spicy, etc.)

      • Geographies (by country)

      • Country of Manufacture

      • Minimum order quantity (MOQ)

      • Sample Lead Time

      • Lead Time

      • Unit Price

  • How do I place a sample order?

    1. In 🛒 Marketplace, click View Product on the component that you wish to sample.

    2. Under the product photo, you'll see an entry form for number of samples. Enter the quantity you wish to order, and click 🛒 Add to Cart.

    3. Check your items by clicking 🛒 Your Cart on the top right. When done, click Proceed to Checkout.

    4. Enter your shipping and payment details as instructed on the page. If you have a promo code, be sure to use it here! Don't forget— use FREESAMPLES to get your first 4 samples for free (minimum order of $25)! Please note that the code only works for orders greater than $1.

    5. Click Pay, and you're all set! You'll receive a confirmation email shortly.

  • How do I place an order?

    • Ingredients

      • In 🛒 Marketplace, click View Product on the component that you wish to order.

      • Under the entry form for sample requests, click 🛒Get a Quote.

      • Sit tight— our team will reach out to you shortly!

    • Packaging and Fragrances

      • In 🛒 Marketplace, click View Product on the component that you wish to order.

      • Under the product photo, you'll see an entry form for number of units, next to an MOQ. Enter the quantity you wish to order, and click 🛒 Add to Cart.

      • Check your items by clicking 🛒 Your Cart on the top right. When done, click Proceed to Checkout.

      • Enter your shipping and payment details as instructed on the page. If you have a promo code, be sure to use it here!

      • Click Pay, and you're all set! You'll receive a confirmation email shortly.

Sampling

  • Why is there a cost associated with your samples?


    $10 for ingredients, $18 for fragrances, $5 for packaging

  • I placed a sample order! What now?


    Amazing! Our team will work behind the scenes to get your sample coordinated. We'll reach out to you to confirm your address and phone number to update tracking information, and follow up once you receive your order.

  • What if I want to order more than 20 samples?


    Our supplier partners offer 20 samples per unit, maximum, at a time. Most can accommodate if you need additional samples for compatibility or fill testing, but there may be an associated cost depending on the supplier.

    To request samples in excess of 20 units, reach out to us via email at [email protected] with the subject line "Additional Samples" to start this process.

  • Is it possible to get a sample with custom deco?


    At standard, all samples are plain and undecorated.

    Upon placing a sample order, you'll receive an email from our team to confirm your shipping address and phone number. If you'd like to see a decorated sample, please reply with your request!

  • I liked the sample(s) I ordered. What now?


    We're happy you liked your samples! Please leave feedback about your order— your input is incredibly valuable to us, and will help us improve the platform!

  • I placed a sample order, but still haven't received it. What should I do?


    We'll work with our Science and Research (S&R) team and other suppliers to provide you with some alternatives for the samples you purchased. If you're interested, we'll send those over to you instead!

    If you prefer, we can process a refund if you no longer want the sample. Please contact your CSM or [email protected] for further information.

Platform

  • What do the different policies mean?


    You can see all policies available on Novi with the 📋Policies tab in the left navigation menu!

    To view the policies of a specific product, select the component by clicking View Product. Then, scroll down to the section labeled ✔️Qualified Policies and read the details.

  • Will Novi be expanding its list of policies against which supplier components are vetted?


    Yes! We are always looking to expand the policies we include in our ingredient vetting and marketplace filtering features. If you're interested in a particular policy but don't see it on the platform, let us know by contacting [email protected].

  • What do the different product attributes and details mean?


    The following list is organized A-Z (alphabetically).

    • Feedstock - Material of the component, like glass, PP, PET, aluminum, and so on.

    • INCI - "International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients," which makes up the list of ingredients commonly found on a product label (i.e. the generic name of a product, like peanut butter for Skippy).

    • MOQ - "Minimum order quantity," which is the minimum amount of product that must be ordered for the supplier to be willing to fulfill the order.

    • One pass, two passes, three passes (for deco options) - One pass = one color, so if a deco design has 3 colors, it requires 3 passes.

    • Trade Material - The official name of a product or ingredient under a certain company (i.e. the brand name of a product, like Skippy for peanut butter).

  • Where do you find your products/suppliers?


    Our team landscapes the industries we work within to find suppliers offering innovative, clean, and transparent products and ingredients across the beauty, cosmetic, and personal care industries.

Custom Orders

  • What happens if you don't sell product/product size that I need? / Can I make a special/custom request?

    We add new products to the Marketplace every week, so keep your eyes peeled!

    We offer custom sourcing requests to paid brands; please reach out directly to your CSM or [email protected] with the subject line "Custom Sourcing Inquiry" and your inquiry details.

  • The “deco” dropdown doesn’t list any options. Does this mean this supplier doesn’t offer any deco options for the component in which I’m interested?

    Not exactly! Suppliers typically provide decoration quotes as inquiries come in, as pricing regularly fluctuates depending on the artwork involved.

    Our Marketplace features various deco options, which vary by supplier:

    • Number of passes (one pass = one color)


    • Types of deco


    • "Available upon request"

  • Can I break up a product/sample order with different deco options, as long as it meets the MOQ?
    While possible, this is largely dependent on the supplier and deco type.

  • Do you offer options for secondary packaging (boxes, inserts, etc.)?
    Presently, our goal is to focus on primary packaging components. However, we plan on shifting to include secondary packaging options in early 2022.

Financing

  • The listed MOQ is too high. Is it negotiable?
    While Novi typically offers the lowest possible order quantities from our supplier partners, there are a few ways Novi can help brands meet MOQs that would otherwise be too high:

  • What is ResolvePay, and how does it work?


    This service is available to paid members only.

    If brands are seeking financing options but are not approved by ResolvePay, we may be able to offer financing options internally. To apply, the brand must submit the following information:

    1. Signed purchase order from retailer(s)

    2. Summary of distribution strategy

    3. Notice of funding

    4. Projected annual revenue.

      *Please note, if any of the above information is not available, we will accept references (retail partners, funders, etc.) in its place.

  • What are group orders, and how do they work?

    In order to help making packaging products accessible to brands of all sizes, Novi offers group orders. We find and match multiple brands who are interested in the same product and coordinate a joint purchase with suppliers. This way, brands get access to components at lower MOQs, with better pricing!

Please note that some items, like ingredients and fragrances, are logistically more challenging to coordinate group orders for. In those cases, we suggest you take advantage of our other financing options.

  • How does your warehouse storage service work?

    This service is available to paid members only.

    With our coordinated warehouse storing, we hold larger quantities of SKUs and release them on a predetermined timeline that makes sense for you and your business.

    If you would like to utilize this service, please reach out to us via email at [email protected], with the subject line "Warehouse Storing Request" and provide details on the products and quantities you're interested in.

Shipping

  • What countries do you ship to / Do you ship internationally?

    Currently, we ship directly to the 🇺🇸United States and 🇨🇦Canada.

    However, if you have a request, we'll coordinate on a case-by-case basis; please reach out to us via email at [email protected] with the subject line "International Shipping"!

The tracking information says my order was sent and delivered, but I haven't received it yet!
